3 different cards/computers ALL wireless dropping...!!!

$

0

I returned two computers a Lenovo and an Acer, they both had wireless dropping issues, and I believe two different cards, and I remember one had the Centrino 2230.

I now have a third computer which I definitely want to keep with the Intel Wireless-AC Dual Band 7260.

It also is dropping, and I can't get it to work.  Can anyone get this to work?

This issue appears to be Win8 & some Win7 (according to others) with the newer cards, and certain routers.

Our other wireless computers in the home all with either XP or Win7 but at least a year older all work fine.

The Router is a mainstream ISP router, so I don't want to hear any stupid thing that it's the router at fault, especially when other computers work fine and it's a mainstream router.

It's all the newer cards and primarily Win 8.

So, this is unacceptable quality control by Intel.  NewEgg also tried to deny me $135 for one returned computer because they couldn't detect a problem, likely using a router that works.  Only fortunately working with Acer saved me, because they also reported it as a known issue.

I hear Killer Wireless also has the same issues, which I guess uses Intel tech.

So, how can I fix this?  A computer is nearly unusable without a working wireless.  I mean, it's one thing to have software issues, but such mass hardware defects is unacceptable.

Oh, and can anyone point me to working Win 8.1 drivers for the I guess the 4600 graphics and the wireless card?

Thanks

USB adapter shows higher speed than Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 (PCIE for desktop)

USB adapter TP-LINK TL-WN722N shows higher speed (60 Mbit\s) than Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 PCIE for Desktop (40 Mbit\s).

On the same PC.

Router: TP-LINK TL-WR941ND

Settings on router: DD-WRT, 40Mhz, N-Only, Auto-channel

Signel quality in both cases is near 50%

I have tried all settings for Intel adapter in Device Manager

Is the reason only in coincidence of the router and adapter manufacturer (TP-LINK)?

If the 60 Mbps is for each of two MIMO channels the result will never be 300 Mbps, I think.

But in other utility speed is higher:

Intel 7260 + Windows 8.1 - not supported?

When using the download wizard to search for drivers for my wireless:

Product family       Wireless Networking

Product line           Intel® Wi-Fi Products

Product name        Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

Operating System Windows 8.1, 64-bit

... I get presented the version 16.6.0 download along with these release notes:

Note: The following adapters do not support Windows 8.1 64-Bit:

Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
Intel® Wireless-N 7260
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 for Desktop

Is this a glitch in the document? We've been buying hundreds of Dell laptops with the AC 7260 and Windows 8.1 64-bit factory installed, so at least they are expecting to be able to support that combo...

Problems using Intel 6205 “My Wifi” and n-WLAN in general

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and might Need some advise for setting up WLAN connections using my Intel WLAN card.

I'm using WLAN connections to synchronise data between my professional notebook (Intel Sandybrigde with Intel 6205) and my personal notebook (AMD K8 with Realtek 8192se card), and further to backup the data from the personal notebook to two different servers also via WLAN.

As my professional notebook has an Intel 6205 WLAN card build inside, I can use Intel My Wifi to make the WLAN card become an access point. I've known that for a longer time and had already bought a second Intel 6205 card because of that feature, to build it into one of my servers.

While using my Wifi the first time for synchronising data last week (the professional notebooks Intel 6205 card worked as access point with Intel my Wifi), the connexion broke and I got an error in Windows. It said, the network resource isn't available any more.

As basic test I did some pinging (via Windows console using the ping command). After a longer connexion duration (several minutes) I get a lot lost packets, about 12,5 %!

My first suspect was the cheap Realtek card in my personal notebook, so I bought another WLAN card from Broadcom. I tested the connexion to the professionals notebook Intel 6205, with the latter working as a “My Wifi” hotspot, using all three available cards in my personal Notebook:

  • Realtek 8192se two antennas  – about 12,5 % lost packets
  • another Intel 6205 two antennas – no lost packets
  • Broadcom BCM4313 two antennas --  far more than 50 % lost packets -, most times they can't connect at all

The connexion between the Intel My Wifi Hotspot and the Broadcom BCM4313 works only reliable (without significant packet loss), when setting the Intel 6205 card into 802.11g mode. But with this restriction I get only about 20 MBit/s throughput, contrary to the already slow 40 Mbit/s between two Intel 6205 cards. This is somewhat '2003-standard', but not a contemporary performance. Is there some other kind of fix for this? I also can't
say the My Wifi Software to use 40 MHz channels or to work in the 5 GHz spectral range.

I have also another, maybe a minor problem with the Intel 6205 card. Connecting it to my DSL-router I get constantly about 0,5 % packet loss, connecting it to an Alfa AWUS036NH adapter (working in hotspot-mode) gives the same 0,5 % packet loss. I don't have this kind of packet loss with my other WLAN-cards from Realtek and Broadcom. By the way, also in this situation the Intel card is significantly slower than the realtek card, but equal to Broadcom's performance.

Are there some driver tricks to get a reliable 802.11n use with the Intel 6205 card? In fact My Wifi was the feature, for which I purchased this card.

Hi, I'm using Win7 x64 laptop with Intel Centrino Wireless-N2230 card, and bought Asus RT-N56U wireless router. After setting the router up, I can connect to internet using network cable, but when I go wireless the connection to internet keeps dropping intermittently. Connection to wireless network is stable and good, but the connection to internet dissapears for 30-60 seconds every couple of minutes. Again, if I'm using cable, everything is fast and nice. Any ideas? Thanks!

problem with BT and WIFI WIN8.1 N7260

hi there,

i am getting really frustrated, i have a new dell inspiron with win8.1 and i have 2 major problems that are really getting me frustrated.

befor i start i will say that i tried to use dell's support and its not problem that they can help me with.

first problem is with my BT:

I am trying to use my dell to be like a speaker to my iphone. i know that on windows 7 it works even on older laptop.

I paired the iphone to my dell and it has connection, on the device setting i see that there is a service checked as enabled called "audio source service" and "handsfree audio getaway service" but still it is not working and i cant play music via BT to my dell speakers.

second problem is with my wifi:

i got wireless N7260 the drivers and proset software are fully updated. and the signal is really low. what i mean is that i have other laptops, older ones, in the same place and they are receiving signal and connection, i even get connection to wifi with my iphone but no signl on my dell. so its really frustrating when i could not connect to wifi on my room. just to know the router is 'n' type placed 15 meters from the room so its really should not make any problems. the only thing i think about is that your drivers are not compatible

please help me solve this two problems.

thanks wifi8.1

Intel My Wifi Dashboard - Only Lite? (Centrino Advanced-N 6230)

$

Whatever I do, the Dashboard only starts in Lite Mode. It complains the Hardware would be able to run the Full Version, but that it would not be installed - which is not true, the most recent version of the PRO/Wireless tools (Wireless_15.3.1_s64) are installed, including the enterprise options (which I need for work). The OS is Windows 7 Enterprise, 64bit.

The interesting thing is, in the older versions that ship the old My WiFi I can easily create a Hotspot. Unfortunately this is not an option, since these old versions do not connect to the corporate network.

So in principle I'd just like to force the stupid Dashboard into the Full mode, since it apparently is a bug in detecting its own tools and drivers.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Intel AC7260 problems

Hi there, I just excitedly bought 3 AC7260 cards for all our laptops in the house cause we upgraded our router to the RT-AC66U and let me tell you I am soooooo NOT impressed with these cards. They are horrible, I cannot keep a consistent connection with my router.

Computer #1 is a Dell 7720 running windows 8 and all I keep getting is constant unable to access network page errors that only say on a chrome web page:

Error code: ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED

In my intel event viewer I get around 3 lines marked Information..... authenticating wireless profile XXXXX every minute!!!!!! This can't be right???

Computer #2 is an XPS 15 running windows 7 home and I get the same problems as computer #1 just not as many chrome ERR pages.

Computer #3 is an Alienware M18 and it consistantly drops the wireless connection too. I had a bigfoot card in there previously and NEVER had any problems with losing wireless connections.

I'm using all the latest newest drivers on all my laptops and i just can't believe how troublesome these 7260's are. Anyone else actually have a 7260 thats rock solid and if so, how did you do it?

Bluetooth not working. UX301 + W8.1 + X?

Hey,

I just got a new laptop (Asus UX301). Recently I updated windows to 8.1 as well as updating drivers for more or less everything on the computer.

Then suddenly bluetooth stops working, and after that I have tried everything I know of in order to restore its function. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, as well as software updates, from both intel and asus' web sites. The network adapter in my computer is an "Intel Dual band Wireless-AC 7260". I guess this adapter includes both WiFi and the BT device?

The BT _didn't_ stop working right after I upgraded to W8.1, rather some hours later while I was trying to get the WiDi to work. Therefore I don't suspect W8.1 to be (at least the direct) cause of the dysfunction. It might also be connected to faulty driver updates, although I guess intel has the latest versions and that these should be valid and working.

For information I cannot find any switch for BT anywhere in settings, nor is the icon in the system tray present anymore. Also, in Device manager there is no separate BT adapter listed, but I guess it never was as this is probably included in the WiFi adapter (?). When I right click->properties->advanced on the WiFi adapter in device manager I can see that "Bluetooth(R) AMP" is listed as "active".

For a short while "Centrino

I have also tried running the intel driver update utility, while the driver was installed and while it was uninstalled. No luck.

Please, if anyone have any suggestions as to what can be the solution to this it would really help me a lot. I'm completely empty for suggestions myself after having browsed forums etc. for hours now.

Thank you very much!

Hardware: Dell Latitude E6420

Wireless Card: Intel Advanced-N 6250 AGN

OS: Windows 7 Pro 32-bit (also 64-bit)

Upon installing the newest version of ProSet, the native WiFi icon and the ProSet icon both have a yellow bang when connected to WPA2/PSK Cisco AP.  Hovering on the native icon reveals a message of "no internet access", opening the Intel ProSet connection utility  shows "Internet Access : No"

Here's the kicker, I have perfect signal and working internet access.  So why does it show the message?

I tried with all drivers and always have the same problem (now I have ,16.6.0.8). Sometimes the card loses connection and I must reset it.

INTEL CONSTANT WIFI DISCONNECTS *WE SHOULD SUE*

I have never been so unhappy with windows products in my life. I have just spent $2,633 on two new computers one is a HP Split X2 Ultrabook with a 7260-N Wireless card. While the other is a Sony VAIO SVT212 with a 7260-N Dual Band Card. I have had nothing but trouble with these wireless cards and there constant disconnects all they keep doing is staying connected for about an hour and then switching over to limited connectivity both computers are on Windows 8.1 and both have been reinstalled in order to verify that the original factory installed copy of windows wasn't corrupt and causing the wireless problem. Here's the thing intel keeps releasing drivers that are never fixing this problem there are multiple complaints about this on the forums... I personally have tried... the beta driver 16.8 as well as driver 16.7 as well as drivers 16.5 and 16.6 now the Microsoft built in driver seems to be the most stable meaning it doesn't disconnect but it doesn't work correctly either it hardly has any signal and usually drops to 2 bars plus it is a way slower connection meaning on intel drivers I get my full 100mbs internet connection on microsoft's I get 70mbs and then it drops to 40mbs and so forth. I can't believe that this isn't being fixed yet what is wrong with your guys I spent all this money im sure if I was a big shot in your company this would be fixed in a second lol.... Get working on this its horrible. Im going to post references to all other threads talking about the problems not only do the 7260-n's suffer from disconnects but your 7260-ac's also do too.

here's the links to millions of other threads on these problems...... Honestly im about ready to dispute these charges with my credit card company since I can't use these computers properly and if you say that I should buy an external WIFI adapter that isn't a good answer you guys should fix the problem or replace these faulty unstable network cards in everyone's pc believe me intel has enough money to do that.
