I have been unable to successfully maintain a bluetooth connection since installing this product in September of 2016.  I have tried literally dozens of attempts of uninstalling and updating drivers to no avail.  The device will work perfectly on its initial reinstallation but will fail on pc restart or reboot.

Here are some screenshots of the errors I am seeing and system report:

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Wireless driver spamming Windows Event Log

$

This is for a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 chip on a Lenovo P50. The driver for the wireless chip keeps posting this to the Application Event Log every 9-11 seconds:

Source: Netwtw06

Event ID: 7023

Level: Information

Content: 7077 - Intel proprietary

It's cluttering my event log and making it difficult to find anything useful.

I have the latest version of the driver (20.30.1).

Is there any way to turn off this event logging? Or can it be removed in the next version?

Is there a current Intel mini-PCIe MHF4 wifi adapter?

Hi,

My laptop has a Centrino N-6235ANHMW network adapter, which has the strange combination of being mini-PCIe but with MHF4 antenna connectors.

Usually mini-PCIe cards come with U.FL connectors (MHF4 connectors being standard for NGFF/m.2 wifi adapters).

Normal and weird adapter side by side

Old card with MHF4 to the left, normal card with U.FL to the right.

I'm looking to replace this adapter (for 802.11ac and better driver support) – preferably Intel again but I'm unable to find a card with this specific combination of connectors. Am I SOL on this one?

Thanks for any insights!

question for Intel MU-MIMO setting for AC-8265

Hello all,

it seems my laptop with Intel AC-8265 doesn't support MU-MIMO.

I'm using ASUS-RT88U as gateway, and it proves it works with Samsung S7 for MU-MIMO. but when connecting AC-8265 ( install on my DELL laptop) with Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software version = 20.10.2

  • Driver version = 19.10.10.2 for Windows 7 for 18265, 8265, 3168, 18260, 8260, 17265 and 3165.

During the capture packets, it shows Sounding and MU request send to AC-8265, but still get SU feedback.

please help to check how to enable the MU-MIMO for AC-8265

Thanks

More Bluetooth 5 features need to be introduced.....

Hi,

I currently use a Lenovo Yoga 910 which had a Qualcomm wireless card pre-installed (I don't know which one). But I experienced too many dropped connections while browsing, which is why I decided to try Intel AC-8265. I loved the performance and reliability, which is why I bought a newer version, Intel AC-9260 mainly because it had Bluetooth 5. Everything worked fine, but I feel like it wasn't a bang for the buck because I don't really know what to do with Bluetooth 5 on Windows. I currently own a Samsung S8 which has Bluetooth 5 and I can do really cool things with it, like playing audio on two speakers at once. I really wish there would be a similar feature on Windows which can do that. After all, I believe that's the beauty of Bluetooth 5. Intel should introduce a new Bluetooth driver designed for Bluetooth 5 wireless cards which would introduce these features. It's about time they do that because more and more devices are starting to integrate Bluetooth 5. However, if there is a feature like that on Windows, can anyone tell me how to use it? Please reply if you agree or have a solution. Thanks.

Wireless-N 7260 not working stable only with one network

Hello, I have a problem with network connection on Wireless-N 7260. I've changed my router about a month ago, because the old one died (D-Link DIR-615), and now my laptop can't maintain connection with the new Xiaomi Mi Router 3. It did work very well with the old one, it works stable with my iPhone 7 Plus being in hotspot mode, etc. The only router it doesn't get friendly with is my new one, but every other device in my house works perfectly with it. I've tried reinstalling and updating drivers, configuring the network card, configuring the router to match the settings of the old router, but nothing helps. One more strange thing is that when it disconnects, it doesn't always even find the network, and if it does, there's a very small chance that it will connect, the adapter will most likely just reboot while connecting, and then Windows will be like "unable to connect". Mostly it connects when I wake up the computer, and it even holds the connection for some time (the speed is quite low, though), but then this might happen. How can I fix it?

home network drops out, internet remains

I have a 6-week old HP laptop with an Intel AC3168 network adapter. Upon boot up, home network and internet are fine. If the home network is not in use after about 10-12 minutes the connection is lost & clicking on PC icon in File Explorer does not restore the connection yet the internet connection is still operable. Rebooting or changing an adapter setting, such as changing Roaming Aggressiveness to any other setting (without rebooting) will restore the home network right away yet after the same time interval, if not being used, the home network connection is lost while internet remains. I have disabled all power-saving settings I can find. I even selected "no SMPS" under MIMO Power Save Mode and tried different Transmit Power settings but the underlying problem remains. "Update driver" reports I have the latest version. The laptop remains accessible to the PC at all times. Router is an Intellinet Wireless G Broadband model 523431. Suggestions?

AC 8260 New Installation Issues

I recently put this module in a brand new computer, and installed Windows 10.. No noticed I had Wifi but no Bluetooth...  No worries, drivers and updates were installing.  Well, after that happened and the computer rebooted, I have Bluetooth, but no WIFI... I have tried downloading/reinstalling the latest drivers and removing the Bluetooth device with no luck.  I always end up with Bluetooth and no wifi;  I have a couple of unknown Intel devices but can't seem to get those to do anything.

The only thing I can think of now is to remove all of the Intel drivers that windows update installed because honestly I'd rather have wifi than Bluetooth.   Below are the drivers it put on there...

My updated drivers caused internet crash!

Can somebody ANYBODY out there PLEASE help me? I updated all drivers because my tabs were opening slow. Now they're running slower than MOLASSES!! I'm supposed to get 55mbps, but I've been getting 9, 10, 15!! I tried to roll back the Network driver and NOW my Bluetooth mouse is acting crazy! I should have prefaced this discussion by saying I am computer ILLITERATE when it comes to nomenclature and such, I have been TRYING to read up on how to connect my dual band router to my laptop which does NOT support 5g, and my eyeballs are about to explode...I'm close to tears...and pulling my eyebrows out my face!!!

How to uninstall PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth patch?

$

I'm running Windows 10 on an Asus Z87 Pro V motherboard. I removed my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 for Desktop adapter today because of driver problems and blue screens that seemed related to it and recent versions of Windows 10. I'm now using a wired connection instead.

I was able to successfully remove one Intel PROSet Wireless program and one Intel PROSet Bluetooth program from Programs and Features. However, when I try to uninstall the Intel PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth Technology (patch version 3.0.1342.2) program/patch, the process fails with the message "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." It also displays a second, more simple failure message.

Based on a suggestion on another thread, I tried using the Microsoft tool that helps with installation/uninstallation issues (Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall). That program listed other programs in Programs and Features, but not the Intel PROSet patch I can't uninstall. It seems that Windows somewhat thinks the patch is installed and uninstalled.

How can I remove this item successfully? For now, I just want to use a wired connection and not having anything PROSet-related left on the computer.

Thanks!

Win10 stutters on battery if Wireless AC-8265 set to Power Saving or if there is no internet connection/airplane mode

$

Windows 10 (fully patched and updated) laptop stutters and lags when it runs on battery power under certain conditions. I have traced this (I think) to power saving settings for the Wireless Adapter. Here's the logic...

If laptop is on AC power - no issues

If laptop is on battery AND wireless adapter power saving is set to "Medium Power Saving on battery" then Windows 10 (everything) lags and stutters. The mouse freezes for a couple of seconds, typing stops and starts, even the up-time counter in Task Manager skips a few seconds. If I switch the wireless adapter power saving setting to Max Performance on battery the issue goes away. BUT...

Even if I leave the wireless adapter power saving setting as"Maximum Performance on battery" then the stutter reappears IF there is a no wireless internet connection or if the laptop is in airplane mode.

So, Win 10 stutters IF(on battery == TRUE) AND ((Wireless Power Saving != Max Performance) OR (Wireless Internet Connection == FALSE))

To those with more knowledge than me:

If the wireless adapter is the issue (and I'm pretty sure it is) is there a fix? Why is the presence of an internet connection preventing the laptop lagging but in airplane mode it comes back (even with Max Performance set). I guess it is the adapter realising after some period that there is no connection and then going into a sleep state or low power mode even though it is set to max performance. i.e. it mimics the behaviour of medium power saving (even with an internet connection). But this sleep state drags the entire PC down with it?

HP Spectre x360 laptop, Core i7 7th Gen, 16Gb RAM, 1Tb SSD, Intel Wireless-AC 8265.

Happy to run some tests etc.

Thanks in advance.

Intel Dual Band AC 8260 performance decreased to not usable today

Hello,

I have a 5 week old ASUS laptop.  For the most part, the laptop could get 15-25 Mb/s on my home wireless. All of a sudden today, I lost Internet connectivity. After restarting and such, speeds might hit 2 Mb/s but sometimes, speeds are measured in bytes or KB.  Often, it is not working on wireless I can connect a USB to Ethernet adapter and get 55 MB/s. But wireless is bad, and I really need wireless.  Any ideas?

I followed the steps to completely remove the older drivers and add new ones, but that did not solve the issue. The SSU results are attached

AC8260 & AC8265 major connection issues with Asus routers ...

$

I have tried 2 separate HP Laptops, one with AC8260 and one with AC8265 cards,

and both have issues sustaining a solid connection to my RT-AC1900P (RT-AC68U)

Asus router on the 2.4Ghz band. The connection will randomly lose pings to the router

for about 20 seconds then fix itself, however the wireless link remains connected.

Laptops are Spectre x360 (one Pro - older model) and one newest Intel 8th Gen.

This is on both laptops running latest drivers 20.40.0.4 (also tried many older ones),

and Windows 10 Pro x64 (latest updates). The wireless network has a strong connection

and it's always full bars and 144/144 Mbps (this is running on a 20 Mhz channel width),

although I've tried many other options, including changing power options in the Intel

Wireless drivers as recommended on Intel Technical Bulletins, without success.

New installs of Windows 10, as well as factory resets, tried everything ...

Sometimes the issues happens every minute, sometimes every ~10 minutes.

The same cards seem to work fine with an Asus RT-N66U on 2.4Ghz band.

What's the next step for troubleshooting this issue ?

Thanks in advance!

Low wifi speed on laptop with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265

$

Hello,

I've recently bought a new laptop (Asus FX503VD) powered by the above mentioned intel dual band wireless-ac 8265.

Already tried with three different drivers, first which was installed by default, then a newer one, and finally with the latest 2018 driver.

Intel ® PROSet/Wireless Software Version 20.40.0.1365 was also installed in the end, but no changes so far.

At the wifi settings it is connected via 5 Ghz with an Asus AC1200G+ router (802.11n - 300 Mbps and 802.11ac - 867 Mbps).

On the wired connection got 920/500 mbit speed with the desktop pc, so it's not an internet issue.

Signal strenght should not be a problem, since the laptop is close to the router.

Would really like to get better speeds then 140 mbps, actually this is why I choose this laptop model with the intel dual ac network card.

I've attached a copy of the SSU text, also a screenshot with the best speed test result (as a sidenote on 2.4 Ghz got only 108/76 mbps).

Please help.

Thank you in advance.
