I have an Intel Dual Band wireless AC 8265 card and it's seeing ac networks as only n. My laptop sees the 5GHz band I'm connecting to as ac, while my desktop card only sees it as n. The drivers I have installed were the ones on the disc I got with the card (version 19.10.10.2).

Hello

I have laptop Lenovo 700-17ISK with Windows 10. And everything was ok, but Intel Utility shows me that i need to updated driver for bluetooth.

Ok i downloaded it, but can't install.

I uninstalled driver manually, and now i just can't install new driver.

Bluetooth service started.

I downloaded all possible drivers for Wireless-AC 8260 and for bluetooth. wi-fi works perfect, bluetooth - no.

latest current drivers for Wireless-AC 8260 is "PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 10" Version:20.30.1    Date:2/6/2018

last current version for BT "Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows® 10 " Version:20.30.0    Date:2/6/2018

In device manager bluetooth looks like unknow device

Frequent disconnects on AC7260 after installation of latest driver (18.33.11.2) Win10 x64 (16299.125)

Hi,

I had some issues with BSODs on AC7260 (see here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/tcpipsys-bsod-on-lenovo-t440s/22257470-7173-4a6b-96e3-dbc76713396e for details) so I have recently used Intel DSA to update to the latest version of wireless drivers for my WiFi (18.33.11.2, released just several days ago). The updated driver presumably fixes BSODs (at least according to the changelog) and indeed I have not seen any BSODs since the installation of updated driver.

However, after the installation of the new driver version I see frequent disconnects with no useful diagnostic information available from Intel Wireless Event Viewer. I am attaching the diagnostic log that I was able to produce (nothing useful really) and also the information on the WiFi/access point vendor.

Any ideas?

Halleck

[Bug] Bluetooth AC-3156 sound stutters nonstop when I rewind a video on a website.

$

Hello,

I have an Inspiron i5577 with AC-3156 w/BT. For a long time now, sometimes when I rewind a video on Firefox or Chrome, on any website, with a fresh Windows 10 installation, the video and audio becomes choppy. Imagine looking at a video that only plays 1 Frame Per Second. It plays for quarter of a second, stops, plays again, stops, etc. Once the stutter begins, every sound played through other sources such as local MP3 or Windows notification sound also stutter.

If I rewind videos on a local MP4 file it never starts stuttering. It never starts stuttering with wired earphones. The stutter is always initiated when changing a video playback position on the browser. The more frequently I change the position, the more likely it stutters. Sometimes it stutters only for a second after rewinding but continues to play. When this initial one-time stutter happens, it always starts stuttering permanently after subsequent rewinding. Rewind once - it stutters once but plays fine. Rewind again - it stutters forever.

I have tested it with two BT headsets manufactured by different companies, as well as on two web browsers. The problem is with the Bluetooth adapter or drivers.

I have followed Mr. Carlos A.'s advice to reinstall WiFi and BT adapters but that hasn't solved it-3165 Bluetooth cuts of minus of a second that affects all devices connected. Dell Inspiron 7000 17" on W10. I've done… (tried Dell's WiFi/BT drivers too).

To temporarily fix the problem I disable and re-enable the BT adapter. The BT headphone automatically pairs and it plays fine after the reset. Sometimes the stutter happens multiple times in 10 minutes, sometimes once an hour. It makes media consumption through BT highly unpleasant.

I've attached Intel System utility log to this thread with a hope that someone can help troubleshoot it. I'm willing to go through technical steps. Thanks in advance!

EDIT:  Here is a more detailed look at the problem. Open a YouTube video and play. Click on a rewind bar to skip ahead. Do it again. It starts stuttering. Click on Windows 10 notification button (bottom-right corner of taskbar) and from the action panel click on the Bluetooth card twice to disable and re-enable. Once the Bluetooth is disabled, what surprises me is that the video automatically stops. If I try to rewind the video while BT is being reset, it won't play. The video starts playing automatically on its own once the BT finishes resetting and pairs the BT headset. As soon as its automatically paired the video resumes with a proper sound.

Hello,

Using the ONLY driver for the 9260 I cannot get this to work on my laptop (HP Envy x360).

Dell XPS 9350 - AC 8260 Bluetooth Issue

Hello,

I just re-imaged my Dell XPS 9350 due to a security breach.  I have installed Intel dual band wireless AC 8260 since last year.  After the re-imaging the laptop, I installed the Windows 10 64-bit Bluetooth driver (BT_20.30.0_32_Win10) and Proset/Wireless Software and Drivers (WiFi_20.30.1_PROSet64_Win10).  The system sees the network adapter but not the Bluetooth.  I'm running Window 10 Pro version 1709 build 16299.248.  I also use BitDefender 2018, GlassWire and Malwarebytes.  Could the security tool(s) prevent the installation?

Thanks,

Kris

intel dual band ac 3165 issue

Hi,

I'm using a HP Envy 15-AH100NA however, the Network Adapter keeps playing up and doesn't stay connected to the WIFI. I'm having to go into Device Manager to disable and renable the adapter but even that has now stopped helping. I've been having this issue since I purchased (brand new) the laptop.

I currently have version 19.51.8.1 installed and there aren't any updates.

Are there any solutions to this or is there a different adapter I could install instead?

Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 - limited channel width?

$

No 40MHz - options are either 20MHz Only or Auto. Why this limitation?

With Intel, speed is 72.2 Mbps. With a free VPN it's 100Mbps. With wifi direct it's 1.0Gbps. Obviously I'd use wifi direct, but it keeps disconnecting every 15sec or so.

My laptop is Asus ROG G752VS. Am I stuck with this particular Intel at 20MHz?

Channel Width for 5HGz Auto vs 20MHz Only

Hello all-

I have a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 and my internet will only work if I go to the device manager -> click on the AC 3168 adapter -> Advanced, then change Channel Width for 5GHz to 20 MHz Only. If I select Auto, my computer will connect to the wifi internet, but it won't actually work and open webpages, e-mail ect. When windows does a scan it says issues with DNS. I have tried to troubleshoot every DNS situation possible on every fourm for 2 days.

The internet works now by selecting 20 MHz Only, but my speed is about 1/2 what it can be (now caps out 50mbps, usually can go 90mbps+)

Does anyone know how to fix this issue so Auto will work again and get my full internet connection speed back?

Attached is the Intel System Support Utility Report if that helps. (.txt file)

Some things that might help when I change the setting to Auto (instead of 20MHz Only)

Error messages received:

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 : Has encountered an internal error and has failed.

Referencing https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005730/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html .

I was able to run this from CMD with the command: setup.exe –c MyConfig –s and it worked perfectly fine without any issues. It installed everything automatically without any user intervention. What I also wanted, is to add the profile in there so that it automatically installs it without any user intervention. However, I am not sure if that's possible or what I would have to add in the XML to make that happen.

That's the link for creating the profile: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007174/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html ( Can the XML document be modified to add the profile as well? That is my question here )

Intel Pro/wireless driver stops working when Windows Update changes it

$

I am using an HP 15-ay041wm with Windows 10 (HATE Win10)

When Windows Update runs, it changes my Intel(R) Pro/Wireless Driver 18.33.0001.3987 to Intel(R) PROset/Wireless Software 20.20.2

at that time, I have no connection through WiFi and have to do a restore to get connectivity back.

I tried to do a reversal of just the driver, and mark the new one as not working, but it doesn't take.

So, I have turned Windows Update off, which is dangerous, to say the least.

I HATE Win10 - I cannot find where to see what the updates are, so I can decline the download (as in previous versions of Windows).

I would like to know if anyone else is having this issue, or has any knowledge.

I stopped in a local repair shop, and asked for information on how to select what I wanted to download and the tech said I'd have to leave it so he could make sure there were no issues with the machine, and for that privilege, I'd have to pay him $80 to start.

I am now retired, but my work history is that of Systems Admin, Customer Support and the like - but I was 'pre-wireless'.  All I want to do is find out how to either choose what gets downloaded in the Updates, or find the driver/program/software that works (the original Intel(R) Pro/Wireless Driver 18.33.0001.3987) on my laptop and save it so I can reinstall after the updates run.

Thanking you all in advance!

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 slow downloads fast uploads

I haven't seen this questions asked elsewhere. My Intel AC 8260 wireless has suddenly dropped download speeds, from over 200Mbps last week to .62 Mbps this week. No software or hardware installations or other changes. My upload speeds remain the same, around 10 Mbps. I'm running Windows 10, 64 bit on a Yoga 900.

It gets stranger. I thought the problem might be in the AC8260 card, so I installed a USB wireless. Same problem. Upload speeds at 10 Mbps. Download speeds at around 1 Mbps.

All other devices in my house (laptops, desktops, iPhone) connect at close to 200 Mbps download, 10Mbps upload. Only the Yoga laptop has this problem.

Any help appreciated.

Reducing Bluetooth Power/Bandwidth on my Wireless 7265 Card

$

I have had many discussions in the past few months about how my Wireless 7265 card in my Dell Inspiron 7348 2-in-one constantly loses connection (especially to my 5Ghz segment).  I finally found the answer by disabling the bluetooth in the adapter.  Once I did that, the WiFi is flawless .. .i never drop a connection and I can see both of my Wifi segments at home.

I also changed the channels on my 2.4 and 5Ghz segments on my router to see if that takes care of any possible interference with the bluetooth.

My question is ... I would like to re-enable the Bluetooth, but doing so will kill my WiFi connection again.  I looked to see if there is any way I can reduce the power or bandwidth on just the Bluetooth, but still allow the WiFi adapter to connect to any router at 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz.  There are few options to set in the Bluetooth.  Are there any command line settings I can use, or a setting/script to set that would allow the full WiFi speed with reduced Bluetooth.  Perhaps if the Bluetooth is toned down, it will not rob the WiFi bandwidth from the adapter.

I know I am not the only one experiencing the issues with this wireless card.  My laptop is no longer in warranty with Dell.  One person at Intel suggested an antenna issue, but if there was an antenna issue, i would still experience signal loss while on the WiFi.  That is not the case .. The Bluetooth kills the WiFi (both 2.4 and 5Ghz).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
