Intel AC 8265 Desktop WiFi - DOA or Driver Issue?
In short, my card is not showing up in the drivers list in Windows Device Manager and it does not show up as a hidden device either. It is encased in an adapter that connects to the motherboard's PCIe x1 slot, along with a wire connecting to the USB hub for Bluetooth. It is correctly seated, but the only thing I see is a indicator light on the adapter saying it is supposedly getting power. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Intel drivers. I'm just wondering if I am missing something or I need to DOA this chip? It's a brand new chip and I was using a wireless Intel Centrino before, I just really wanted the upgrade! I had that Centrino sitting around until I found this AC 8265.
System Specs (home build):
Windows 10 64 bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AX370-GamingK7
CPU AMD Ryzen 1800x
WiFi Adapter Case: Fenvi FV8802
Let me know if there is more information needed please.
Blue screen with AC 7260
Hi all,
AC 7260 WIFI module is used in our machine and blue screen appears from time to time.
The BSoD code is 0x0000009F and the message include "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" as show in the attached images.
We used debug tool to analyse the dump file, it seemed the BSoD has something to do with VWIFIBUS.SYS which is relevant with the WIFI module. A screenshot of the result of the analysis is shown below:
System information:
Chip set of mother-board: QM77 express
OS: Windows 7 embedded 32-bit
WIFI module: AC 7260
Version of driver of WIFI module: 18.33.3.2 (2016/5/3)
Please give me suggestion how to deal with this issue.
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks.
"Intel Wireless Bluetooth" (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165)
MfG Wolfgang
AC 3168 Effective Range issue
Purchased a HP 15 Laptop in August 2017. It has the Intel AC 3168 Adapter. The laptop is unable to locate the router if the laptop is more than 15-20 feet from the router.
I got a range extender, which helps quite a bit, but if I need to move the laptop, it no longer finds the router. I even tried a new AC1900 router, with no improvement.
Is that considered a normal effective range?

Yet another complaint about your 7260/8260/8265 Chipsets
Dear Intel, (and note to the wider community),
I have nowhere left to turn, so I am coming back to the source..... Our company sees fit to use Dell Laptops, a reasonable choice I would argue, and for a number of years now they have all worked reasonably well; last count we now have approaching 6500 such devices now, and all are equipped with Intel Wireless Adaptors; the 7260, 8260 and now the 8265, and since July 2016 thing have been getting progressively worse. Round about the time that you released PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software v. 19.0.1.
Each and every laptop that has been upgraded to this version Drivers and beyond since July 2016 has resulted in the Wireless not working as it should!
The highest connection speed that the laptops are able to sustain is 173.3Mbps when they should be obtaining connection speeds to the AP at around the 866.7Mbps mark (to be precise) .... All because the Intel Drivers have messed up the settings (somehow) preventing full AC Capability.
Because of this .... low starting point (lets call it - trying not to swear) ... a lot of users are not able to connect to the Wireless network at all if they stray from anywhere but directly beneath the Access-Point, yet their personal devices sat next to them on the desk/table/whatever, using the very same access point are all getting 5-bars connecting at 866.7Mbps. MacBook Pros get 1300 Mbps connection speed..... and the list goes on .... all around me devices are connecting at AC Capable speeds, all except the Dells with your Chipsets!
For reference i have attempted to use ProSet versions from 21.10.2 down to 19.0.1 yet the connection speed to the AP never budges: it remains steadfast at 173.3Mpbs. So please do not advise my using the latest version .... as i have proven time and time again to anyone with any technical know-how within our organisation that there is not one version since 19.0.1 that now works.
I have even deleted all trace of the Proset Software, deleted all of the Driver Files from the System32 folder of prior versions and installed JUST the drivers for the Adaptor for all of the version listed above with exactly the same results: 173.3Mbps! Never More, but sometimes a little less.
Only when i downgrade Drivers to 18.33.x.x (for the 7260s) and 18.40.x.x (8260's) do I see an improvement. 866.7Mbps connection speed every time without fail thank you very much. Just like it used to be ..... until ProSet Version 19 came along and ruined it all.
So why are these Dell laptop with your Wireless Adaptors failing to work correctly...... Surely Intel are aware of the tidal wave of hate towards these particular cards (just Google Intel 7260/8260/8265 - [delete as appropriate] - [add any swearword of your choosing] ....) .... so why are Intel not doing anything to fix it???? If you are doing something to fix it..... you've had since July 2016 .... is a fix forthcoming? Or do i need to approach Apple and purchase 6500 MacBook Pros?
would love to hear your response on this .....
many thanks
Michael
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 go too slow.
Hi, I bought a brand new Dell inspiron 15 7000 and it comes with de Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165, since I started used I noticed that it goes too slow in Internet so I updated the controller and all the hardware of the laptop in order to get better performace but nothing works. Other problem is that I can not connect to a VPN using the wireless connection but the Ethernet goes nice.
Please help me.
The latest AC 8265 bluetooth driver doesn't work for me, but previous version works perfectly.
My operation system is windows 7 x64, and desktop motherboard is MSI x299 Carbon AC witch is equipped with Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 adapter for bluetooth connection.
In the first place, I installed bluetooth driver from MSI which is the same as what Intel web page provide (19.70.0)
When I paired my devices like headphone or smartphones, an error message showed device driver software was not successful installed, and no bluetooth peripheral device driver found.
Then, I uninstalled the bluetooth driver and installed the oldest version (19.0.1607.640). The devices driver could be found, but my headphone didn't work.
Again, Uninstalled version 19.0.1607.640 and I tried version 19.40.1. Headphone is successfully paired and installed its driver automatically, Everything works perfectly.
I hope my experience is helpful to improve Intel further driver design.

Intel PROSet wireless software; 802.1x associating issues; Intel Wireless Troubleshooter/Manual Diagnostic Tool do nothing
Very strange behaviour..
Intel PROSet.. seemingly overnight..
a. Just stopped being to associate 802.1x/Enterprise based wireless networks. Personal sec (PSK) is fine. But 802.1x/enterprise networks it can't associate to.
I can default to Microsoft Windows utility and it connects fine.
b. To make matters worse in the PROSet utility, Tools -> Intel Wireless Troubleshooter and Tools -> Manual Diagnostic Tool do nothing. I can select them from the Tools menu and it does nothing.
Infact, the Intel Wireless Troubleshooter, when selected, says 'Operation Command Successfully' .. but eventuates nothing ?
So I can't even see what output/error i'm seeing why it can't connect...
Do I need to clean out PROset ? I've already done this.. with a basic uninstall..purge all profiles, etc.
Maybe a cleanup tool exists ?

Intel Bluetooth drivers - how to control protocols in use
Hi all
I have a Dell XPS 13 9350 and all my music on the laptop is encoded with aac. My bluetooth speaker is a Denon Envaya which supports aac over Bluetooth.
I would like to know how I can ensure that the aac files on the laptop are sent to the speakers as raw (unmodified) aac and decoded in the speaker (which I guess would be the point of implementing the aac protocol in the Bluetooth audio profile.
I have searched the web intensively for an answer to this question but got varying answers. The common ground seems to be that aac encoded files get decompressed to 44.1kHz audio and then are reencoded to aac for the transmission to the speaker / headphone. This of course is suboptimal.
I also found a rather obscure DELL Bluetooth app called Network_Application_100J9_WN32_17.1.1530.31_A00.exe which apparently adds aptx functionality to the Intel Bluetooth Drivers. It does report aptx use if the speaker supports aptx, but results in severe dropouts, when a non aptx capable speakere is connected.
So the whole audio over Bluetooth thing seems to be quite a mess. Does anyone know if there is any intention on the Intel side to clear up this mess in the near future. It looks like a fairly easy task
- aptx is owned by Qualcomm and is freely available now
- Sony's LDAC is also freely availabel
So it would be easy to integrate the major bluetooth audio protocols into the driver stack and give the user an interface with which he can actually control the protocols used in the audio link.
Intel AC-8260 with Win 10 32 bit
I recently tried to install Windows 10 32 bit on a Lenovo Thinkpad T460s. I had been using Win 7 64 bit; wanted to try Win 10 32 bit because of some legacy software issues. I installed Win 10 on a new SSD; kept the old SSD as "backup." The install, which used the latest version of Win 10 downloaded from Microsoft, went smoothly but when it finished, I had no wireless service. When I look for the AC-8260 in device manager under Win 10, it does not show up. I have tried downloading and installing the latest driver from Intel but this does not fix the problem. It is not the adapter; wireless works flawlessly in Win 7. I note that I have switched back and forth between the Win 7 and Win 10 ssd's and when I use Win 7 everything is fine but when I switch to Win 10, it cannot see the AC-8260. Finally, wired internet works fine under Win 10. Any ideas?
Intel 537EPG Modem Win 10 Driver
I recognize that I'm asking for support for some pretty outdated technology. None-the-less, I figure what's the harm in asking, right?
I want to setup digital faxing on my Windows 10 64bit computer. I happened to have an intel 537EPG 56K Modem kicking around and decided to try to get it running on my win 10 PC, however have been unable to find drivers for windows 10 and the automatic search yields no results. Am I simply out of luck on this one or is there a way to get windows 10 to use an older driver, or perhaps does a driver for this card exist somewhere that would allow it to run in win 10?
Thank you for your time.
About implementation of Intel Wifi&bluetooth module fixed frequency
hi,friends,
Recently, our equipment needs to be certified as FCC,so we need a fixed frequency tools to select channel.
The following are the information we use:
Wifi&Bluetooth Module : 8265NGW
OS: win10 enterprises 64bit
CPU platform : Skylake
Intel gives us a solution,Implemented by software(DRTU) combining with BIOS firmware. But Wifi module is OK, Bluetooth is still not available,DRTU can't recognize it.
My ACPI definition under BIOS is as follows:
