Wireless-AC 8265 killing my network. Firewall blocking errors. internet speed 10x lower.

$

I've had this problem for more then a week now. And at first I thought it was my router problem etc.
But here I will explain what happens.

The main issues is when playing online games, sometimes just particular ones.
And the issues persist for an hour even after I exited the game.
I still got a quarter (3-6mbit/s) sometimes around half (6-8mbit) of my 16mbit/s connection but could watch youtube in 1080p and do everything else except when I start gaming.

Here is one event:
1. when running that online game (rust) , I could play for 10 minutes but then people start teleporting and i get *timed out* errors.
meanwhile I can't open ANY website, and if I was lucky to open speedtest.net, and if I was lucky to actually DO an speedtest. it showed me 0.50 download speed. ping mostly double or triple from the normal 56 ping.
And if the speedtest website didn't start doing the speedtest. it showed me an error about firewall blocking connection. It even showed me a few times a totally different speedserver server somewhere in Poland (instead of germany, at the border close to the netherlands which is the opposite side of poland) and there was a red triangle thing showing me that my ports are blocked or whatever.

2: Speedtests. this speedtests are AFTER I exit the online game client. and can persist up to a few hours

PING 56 ms DOWNLOAD 2.33 Mbps UPLOAD 1.17 Mbps
PING 58 ms DOWNLOAD 3.34 Mbps UPLOAD 1.07 Mbps

3: Speedtests MANY hours after I stop playing the game.
Speedtests average the same everyday whenever I try running the online game.

PING 58 ms DOWNLOAD 6.02 Mbps UPLOAD 1.05 Mbps

PING 57 ms DOWNLOAD 8.62 Mbps UPLOAD 1.21 Mbps

PING 58 ms DOWNLOAD 8.24 Mbps UPLOAD 1.17 Mbps

4. Speedtests WHILE ingame, IF they work

PING 177 ms DOWNLOAD 0.56 Mbps UPLOAD 1.10 Mbps

PING 118 ms DOWNLOAD 0.23 Mbps UPLOAD 0.95 Mbps

PING 147 ms DOWNLOAD 1.32 Mbps UPLOAD 0.61 Mbps

5. Playing a LAN game (Factorio)
Now this issue is the weirdest one and always happens. whereas in the online game you can play for the first 5-15 minutes before the issues start.
In Factorio, me and another person are both connected to the same router and we use that router access point to connect both of our laptops to play the game locally without creating a server or whatever.
Once the other person joins, most of the things work okay, but as soon as you open a youtube video or something, the exact same problem appear, except sometimes you DO open youtube but videos not buffering at all, just a black screen not even a millisecond.

6. Sometimes it nothing works at all and when I try to open a website I get some kind of DNS errors.
And sometims when the wifi adapter shows a yellow sign that it has no connection to the internet and when I try to resolve the problem.
It says that the Device cannot communicate with the main DNS server.

I hope all this facts help you to help me if anyone will actually try helping me.

I start regretting choosing this model of the laptop because the wifi adapter was one of the reason I choose it, I had a choice between the AC WLANKiller™ and 8265, but AC WLANKiller™ had bad reviews about having troubles connecting to different networks.

intel wireless ac 8265 slow upload/download

Evening,

So I recently purchased an Asus ZenBook UX430UA-DH74 and the wifi is terrible. When I first boot the machine or enable the wifi I get my usual speeds (300Mbps down 100Mbps up screenshot attached) and within several minutes of usage (or if the computer goes to sleep or the lid is closed and re-opepend) upload and download drop, sometimes to low double digits (say 15/10 screenshot attached). Proximity to the router doesn't matter, I have no QoS on my Google Wifi router enabled. I can kick every device off the router so it's just this laptop and same thing. I've tried several drivers, I heard rolling back to 19.50 could work, no change. Tried 19.70, 20.something, and now 20.10.2.2 and also no change. I've attached the SSU log in hopes of getting some advice? It's quite frustrating as this wasn't a cheap machine... Thanks in advance!

Intermittent connectivity on AC-3165 wireless adapter

I am having connectivity issues on TWO laptops (different brands HP and Lenovo) using the same adapter with Windows 10 Home 64 bit as the OS.  I have a p50 laptop with Win7 that works FINE.  The HP used to work well until a windows update seemingly caused issues.  I can get a few really good speed tests at speedtest.net and then I'll either get a latency error or a very slow (0.84Mb/s) download speed.  Most of my download speed on the test were between 24.0 and 29.0 Mb/s.  I have tried many different things including updating wireless driver, rolling back the driver, etc.  to no avail.  Please advise.  Just an FYI - the HP is a year old and the Lenovo is two weeks old.  Thanks.

AC7260 SPP speed limitations in W7

$

If anyone knows the solution to this I would appreciate it very much.

I have installed an AC7260 Mini PCIe to my desktop ASUS P8Z77-V and i7

I needed faster WiFi than the original and I also needed BT4 for development work I am doing.

I also needed fast Classic BT for a telemetry app I am developing and the card specs indicated I would get what I wanted - SPP and 460800 baud.

I do not get this. The driver installer for Intel Wireless Bluetooth (v20.20.0.2 26/10/2017) installs the MS Standard Serial Over Bluetooth Link for each VSP. The available options for speed range from 75 baud through 128,000 which is well short of my required 460800. I also get a simplified Advanced Options dialog.

Connecting a "vanilla" FTDI adapter I get speed options from 300 baud through to 921,600 in addition to a much more sophisticated Advanced Options dialog, and it works.

What am I missing here? Why can't the drivers match the capability of the FTDI driver? Have I mis-configured something?

Thanks.

All of a sudden my asus pce-ac55bt b1 with intel 8260 has been slowing down then disconnecting from the router its really strange it even sometimes kicks off other devices using the 5ghz network.Just browsing the internet and not putting any load on the card is ok for awhile but itll disconnect eventually. As soon as i try to download a file or download a steam game it either starts and downloads fast 10-14MB/s and starts to slow then drops connection or itll just get confused and drop before its really strange. I've tried the windows 10 generic driver, Asus' driver, all the latest past intel drivers even loaded up ubuntu live on a usb stick and tested the same thing happens. Switched pci-e ports, adjusted antennas, checked for loose wire connections ending with same result. Had to go back to using my netgear a6210 usb adapter which is working heavy downloads fine while i wait for amazon to ship me a replacement.

Thats just a quick catch up of all the things ive done to rule out my pc and windows 10. Has there been anyone else having these problems? is it driver + windows 10 related or is it really a bad part that cant handle a high load. Not much of a help me fix my card but more of a hey has anyone had these issues and what caused it. Any info will be appreciated.

Hello Community,

I have been reviewing the WiFi Drop Outs against the latest driver for Intel AC 8260, whilst I have tested all the support recommendation and hardware devices settings which I can list but be about 5 pages of details. I have even removed from test host AV product and VPN tools to ensure flat Windows OS.

  1. Removed AV
  2. Removed VPN
  3. Disable Bluetooth
  4. 20 vs 40 no effect.
  5. Power Saving Disabled. ( reflect in logs goign to hibernate mode )
  6. Lock Channels
  7. Confirm HT Mode
  8. Vendor IBm Latest Driver
  9. Intel Latest Driver
  10. Intel WiFi Manager over Windows and vice versa.
  11. etc much more.

After about a month and next step will be to replace the Intel WiFi card to Broadcom which have no impact and no issue, I thought I would try 1 last attempt.

I have attached the Intel PROSet/Wireless Logging Results and seeking peer review as I have little understanding of results, however what stands out to be is at  10:17:04 and 10:22:12. I am hoping to get a better understanding of the log review and assistance in troubleshooting results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

intel n-7260 single band viewed as dual band

Hi all. I have got a lot of issues with my wireless card. It has the latest drivers but issues are still present . From time to time it disconnects or doesn't see my network despite the fact that it isn't hidden. I tried many versions of drivers from the official intel page but the problem remains (it is only not as frequnt as before with the newest software). But the most important, I noticed that my intel n-7260 single band card may be seen as dual band. I discovered that I can do something like this: 1) left click on network icon on tray, 2) right click on my network that I am connected to and select Properties, 3) go to Connection and select Configure..., 4) Here I can select 2,4 GHz or 5,2 GHz or mixed band.

So, is it a bug or is it normal despite it is single band card?

Hi everybodies,

I have just installed Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows® 10 20.30.0 on my PC Asus Zenbook UX510UW-FI074T with Windows 10 Fall creators update.

And that driver disabled bluetooth, the device disappeared in the device manager. It is hidden in fact...

Restoring the previous driver, restoring the system change nothing ! The device stays hidden in the device manager and bluetooth disabled !

Intel bluetooth service works normally (automatic start). Can somebody help me to fix the issues caused by that driver?

Thanks and sorry for my bad English (I am French).

Rémy

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance. Rémy

hi

i have a strange problem with my intel wifi card in Acer V3-772g win 8.1 64bit.

before that i had a Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222. but becz of WiDi upgraded to this intel. my friend has same laptop, same card, working ok!

after fresh installation of intel driver and software i had the usual speed (60Mb as my provider) and afters several minutes it started to get slower, and now after several restarts, suggestions in forums, installations just slow.

what i did as solution:

- try other driver versions (currently the last version 18.33.11.2)

- turn on/off/disable bluetooth

- switch cables

- of course i removed BT and wifi from last card clearly!

- contact my provider, and checked the connection to my modem. everything ok, as expected.

- tried some settings in modem like changing channels...

- change some settings in wireless adapter

any idea? any similar case?

This is a re-posting from Microsoft forum, hoping perhaps someone has some experience with the issue here.

On my new Win10 Laptop I am not able to get the appropriate level of Bluetooth device support for my phone. This appears to be due to a lack of drivers for the "Other Devices" that are installed when pairing my phone. On my Windows 7 device with the Broadcom drivers stack the device pairs fine and I can remotely play music from my phone through to my PC and connected audio system. Currently on Windows 10 (1703) when I pair the phone I am not able to do this. Several "other devices" are present in device manager.

PandoraLink

SdlProxy

SMS/MMS

The system does not seem to understand how to handle these Bluetooth devices.

I've tried updating the drivers, there's nothing that pulls down from Windows Update.

I've tried several iterations of the Intel Bluetooth driver to no avail.

The Broadcom drivers are no longer available from the Broadcom site, they indicate that the drivers are available from Microsoft update, I have had no such luck.

Lenovo support is useless and they want to charge me (for my brand new laptop!) a "nominal" software support fee to troubleshoot my issue, or I am free to contact Microsoft support.

I feel this issue is due to the use of a Microsoft Bluetooth stack and not the "classic" Broadcom stack, but I'm not able to force an install of the Broadcom stack on Windows 10 because the software no longer exists on the manufacturer's website. Is there any way to force a Broadcom driver rather than the Microsoft/Intel conglomeration that appears to be the default?

-------- Contcted Lenovo again -------

I just spent a few hours on the phone with Lenovo, no change in the result. They did create a software case but that team isn't open until tomorrow. For my own troubleshooting I did install an IOGear USB Dongle (GBU521) I had connected to my desktop and I was able to pair the phone an at least get audio connectivity. It wasn't the "smooth" windows connected experience that I could do using the connect panel from the notification menu, but instead opening the control panel and browsing this path: Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers. From there I could "control" my phone from a context menu which popped up a management window and i could click "connect" under Audio. Very cumbersome, but it worked.

A key differentiation between the pairings, on the phone when I paired to the Intel BT device there were no services listed that i could toggle on/off. After pairing with the IOGear (Broadcom) I had two services i could toggle, Media Audio and Input Control.

AC 7260 with18.33.11.2 drivers drop connection issue

I'm having drop and reconnect issue with 18.33.11.2 drivers. If I go back to 17.x version everything starts working. I have 2 routers R7000(main router and Asus 68U bridge). Netgear firmware right now has lots of issues so I made Asus 68U the main router to see if it would get better and it does, but there are still disconnects and reconnects issues with 18.33.11.2 drivers.

Does anybody see similar issues?
